but then again most game companies just release a flood of custom paid items and say screw the game itself. That way Team17 continuously makes money and has the incentive to keep improving the game. The hat and speech bank editors kinda shoot Team17 in the foot because if people can just make their own custom hats and speech banks, how can they charge for new ones? I think that they would be better off not including the editors and instead bundling the game with a certain amount of choices (nothing constrained / intentionally limited) and instead just sell additional cosmetic options. There literally isn't another Worms title that is so noob friendly. It was fun for a while because it was new but the lack of options and imbalance (or absense of) certain weapons and utiltiies makes the game feel like 'Worms for noobs' because that's exactly what it is. WMD could be such a better game if Team17 would only put in some more work and implement the dozens of great suggestions that players have offered. more weapons, more customization, more options all around, etc. I wouldn't mind essentially paying for the "same game" every few years if that game remained unchanged in respect to the good parts and just keeps getting better and better. They always try to change things too much and instead should just focus on keeping what is good about past games and then adding more and more each time around. I've played the hell out of all of the Worms games aside from some console-only ones as well as the very first Worms, and it just amazes me every time a new one comes out that Team17 can never seem to get it right. I don't mind the weapon emplacements because they don't move. Crafting is by far the worst aspect of WMD. WMD failed to incorporate many great ideas from past Worms titles and instead added new features that weren't very well thought out. Rev and CW added some cool ideas like coin crates (much better than the crafting system), water, and worm classes, but kinda ruined the whole experience by making the game this atrocious 2.5D mess. There's a lot of great things that were introduced in Reloaded which haven't been seen in any game since. Team17 is known for introducing new things in Worms games (some of which are quite good) and then neglecting to keep them in future titles.
